  1. Fill a kettle with fresh, cold water and heat to a roiling boil
  2. Warm the teapot and spout by swirling in a splash of the steamy water and then poruing it out
  3. Use approximately one teaspoon of tea per cup. Place the leaves into the teapot of infusing basket
  4. Pour the water over the tea leaves, cover and infuse for three to five minutes (the infusing time is subject to personal tastes) Black and herb teas generally need longer infusing times for best flavor
  5. Remove the infuser. Pour the tea into a cup to enjoy immediately or into a thermos to enjoy throughout the day!

Bag or Loose?

Tea purists will almost always brew a pot of tea using loose tea leaves. Their contention is that the tea leaf in an unbroken form has the best chance to come in full contact with the water, which releases it's flavor. However, the tea bag offers conveinence in preparation, encapsulating the tea leaves for easy immersion and removal from the brewing pot
